Content Development Tools

This website benefits greatly from software that is open source and/or freely available. The webmaster deeply appreciates the individuals and organizations that provide this software, some of which is highlighted below.

		This website is developed and maintained primarily on computers that run some flavor of the Linux operating system.
		HTML pages are created manually using the vim text editor.
		The OpenOffice.org office suite is used to generate PDF files and handle documents in various formats.
		The GIMP graphics program is used to manipulate images (convert formats, resize, reduce disk space required, etc.).
		The Adobe Reader for viewing and printing Portable Document Format (PDF) documents is provided free of charge.
